Synopsis: A buddy travel comedy show in which
two friends travel around and go to restaurants and other cool hang-outs in the
city. Two roommates and self-described homebodies, Ellie and Del, start going
out of their home to show to their ex-friend that they are not just “boring
homebodies”. During their adventures, they snap and post their photos on social
media for all the world to see. They occasionally meet some interesting people.

LIVING ROOM SCENE
A girl, Elliot,
(could be in late teens to early twenties) is sitting on the couch in her
pajamas. She is watching TV. A boy, Delano, (same age) is standing behind the
couch and peeking through their window. Delano looks down at Elle, who is
holding a remote control.
CLOSE UP Phone
shows new text: “DER ELLIE & DEL, I WON’T BE CMING BK ANYMORE. I NEED TO
GO ALONE IN THIS WORLD. GOODBYE FOREVER. LOVE BLAISE.”
MEDIUM SHOT: The two sit down on the couch,
heartbroken.
CLOSE UP: CLOCK
Time passed.
MEDIUM SHOT: They were so upset, they slept on the
couch.
Ellie wakes up.
She is still holding her phone.
CLOSE UP: She
is looking at a picture of Blaise at a fancy eatery with two other people, a
boy and a girl, whom she doesn’t know.
There’s a
caption that says
“Eating out
with my two new friends. Left my old ones behind. #IHateHomebodies
#DelandElleAreBoringHomebodies

Then Halo-halo is put on their table. Del awes at it and reaches for it, but
Elle lightly hits his hand.

anymore?
Elliot: Because
we don’t want to go outside.
Del: I feel
like we’re missing out on things. Think of it, there’s a whole world out
there that needs to be seen!
Elliot: That’s
just the hunger talking. Wait till Blaise comes back for the snacks.
Del: Hmm…pork
siopao.
Ellie:
(receives a text from Blaise) Del, I just received a text from Blaise. He said
he won’t be coming back anymore.
Del: Why? But
the snacks? No wonder I saw him carrying his suitcase before he went out,
climbing through the back window.
Ellie: I don’t
understand. What did we do wrong?
SFX: FB
notification ring
Ellie: Del!
Del! Look!
Del: That
traitor!
Ellie: (angry)
We should do something about this. I say we start going out, go eat at
restaurants, hang out at malls, and go to museums. Show him that we are no
longer boring homebodies and we can have much fun as we have at home!
Ellie VOICE
OVER: Blaise picked another place to eat out. But we picked one of the best
one in the city, and not just for its food.
Ellie: This is
the historic Tita’s café in Butuan City, which was established back in 1955.
Del: Wow! This
doesn’t look old!
Ellie: They
have been renovating it regularly since, Del. To catch up with the times.
Elle VOICE OVER:
Tita’s café is a landmark establishment, historic homegrown restaurant
located at P. Burgos St, one of the busy sections of Butuan City.
The interior
looks like a fast-food chain and has a retro look. And hanging on their walls
are pop culture icons like comic book superheroes and musical icons.
Ellie: There is
a second branch called TIta's Cafe Dos at JC Aquino Ave Butuan City.
Del: Whoa, did
we just teleported?
Elle: Yes,
through the power of television.
Ellie VOICE
OVER: The food here in Tita's Cafe are pre-cooked so they can be ready to
hungry customers fast. The interior
looks like a fast-food chain. However the food taste like home cooked meals
and are very nutritious. Like the pancit, barbecue, burgers, etc. They also
serve local desserts like the universal Filipino signature cold snack
halo-halo and sweet sticky rice cakes. They also serve their own coffee by
brewing Butuan made coffee beans. Tita’s Café is very famous for their
signature siopao and siomai.
Del: I am so
full.
Del: Where are
we going to next?
Elle: Well, let
see. Blaise is at the Butuan City
National Museum.
Del: Let’s
surprise him before he leaves!
Del: I have
never been in this place since Grade 1.
Elle: The
Butuan City National Museum was established after the accidental discovery of
ancient/archeological materials by the City Engineering Office of Butuan City
back in 1974. Following succeeding
archeological digs, they discovered tremendous archaeological finds of
collector’s value. The most significant finds were the prehistoric Balanghai or Butuan Boats that date from 4th to 13th
centuries.
Del: How do you
know all of this stuff?
Elle: I'm
reading directly from the internet.
Elle VOICE
OVER: Most famous collections in the
museum are Ethnographic materials from the Higaonon,
Tiruray, Mamanua and Bukidnon ethnolinguistic groups: musical instruments,
agricultural tools, baskets, textiles, and personal adornments. Coffins that
contain 14th & 5th century materials of pottery shards and human skulls.
Other excavated materials: whetstones, mortar, adze and tablet; wooden
paddles; ceramic wares Body ornaments and implements made of gold, silver,
lead, copper and bronze.
Del: We should keep a look out for Blai- hey
what is that!?
Ellie: That’s the golden Tara. The most
famous exhibit here in the museum. It was found in Esperanza, Agusan del Sur.
Del: Golden? That doesn’t look like gold.
Ellie: It’s not because it’s just a replica.
The real one is in The Field Museum in Chicago, USA.
Del: Well. The real one shouldn't be in
Chicago. It should be here where it
belongs.
ELLE VOICE OVE: If you want to visit the
National Museum, you can find it at Barangay Doongan, near Butuan City Hall
and Balangay Hotel and Convention Center. It opens during Mondays to Fridays
at 9:00am to 4:00p. Weekends and holidays are by appointment only.
Del: We forgot about Blaise!
Ellie: He probably have left. Let me check.
Well, well…he posted that he will be going to Delta Discovery Park.
Del: Yes! I have always wanted to go there!
How do we get there anyway?
Ellie VOICE OVER: We can get to Delta
Discovery Park by a jeepney ride from Gaisano Mall.
Located at Purok 7 Brgy. Bonbon. The park
opened its doors to the public back in May of 2011. It is hidden in the
mountainous terrains of the city.
Getting to the park also needs you to pay
Php30.00 for a 90 second ride on a motorcycle.
The park’s main attraction is the zip line which
is said to be the longest one in Asia, with a length of 1.3 Kilometers. They
also have a 400m dual zip line.
If you like to challenge it, you need to pay
Php 650.00. Php 200 if you want to ride the second time.
Driving up to the launching area is a 15-20
minute adventure by itself. It is a bumpy ride and you get to see more of
nature.
The mountainous terrain and lush forests are
a sight to behold.
Staff is accommodating. And gives you
encouragement and makes you comfortable.
Feel the gusting wind blowing your face as
you glide all the way above the forest.
Aside from the zip line, you can try their
terrain vehicle to explore the park, or swim in their pool, try the horseback
riding, get in touch with nature, visit the aviary park, or have a guided
forest trek.
Del: We had so much fun we forgot about
Blaise! Not again!
Elle: I didn't even think he was here the
whole time. He posted minutes ago that he cancelled his plans coming here.
Del: Well that's rude. What was the point in
all of these?
Elle: At least we had fun.
Del: Yeah, you're right. Maybe after all
this time, because of what Blaise did to us, we had the best time of our
lives and made us realize that we can enjoy the being outside. Maybe that's
the moral of the story and not to prove Blaise wrong.
Elle: He just posted that he'll be meeting
new friends at Pan de Pugon tomorrow.
Del: I guess we know where we will be next
time.
